About this website

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look through my blog. My name is Corey Hunt, I am a freelance journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area who spends most of my days (and nights) trying to keep up with what’s going on in the world. For the past few years I have been following the Mexican Drug War, traveling everywhere from Tijuana and Ciudad Juarez to as far south as Bogota, Colombia, and Quito, Ecuador. In 2009 I spent several months traveling around South Asia, a trip I consider a part of myself to still be on right now…meaning I never fully came home. At the end of the day, I feel more at home on the road or in the air than anywhere else.

Here on my site I like to offer my commentary on a variety of global events, but I also post links to columns, features, and articles I write for different publications. Please take your time to look through as many as you can. I always enjoy feedback and political discussion, which I welcome both in my comments pages, through email, and even over coffee.

  1. Hey Corey, I hadn’t realized you had such a sophisticated spot. I must admit this has impressed me a lot. You have risen to another level of admiration in my book. However, In as much as you and I agree on almost everything we have discussed, I just wanted to respectfully point out to you that Al Jazeera is not neutral at all and does not represent a reliable source of information. It is completely controlled and dictated to by the Qatari government. This can be perceived through its one sided (and supportive) reports about the Islamic Brotherhood, One of the two entities on this Earth that have chosen to completely align themselves with this Terrorist organization. The other, of course, being Turkey, which is beside the point. All of us educated and liberal American Arabs do not trust this News agency at all. It is not worthy of bearing the torch of Truth.
